This week’s trade deadline was one of the more active in recent years. We saw Jay Ajayi join the Philadelphia Eagles, and Jimmy Garoppolo left the Patriots to become the future of the 49ers franchise. Read on to see what else week 9 has in store.
Denver at Philadelphia: Sunday, November 5th at 1:00 PM on CBS.
The Eagles have been flying high and are off to a league best 7-1 start. To keep up their momentum, they’ll have to get past the stiff Denver defense. Newly acquired running back Jay Ajayi may provide a needed boost to the Philadelphia run game, if he can pick up the playbook fast enough. Denver will lean on their new (old) QB, Brock Osweiler to get their offense back on track. It will be fun to see how these new pieces fit on Sunday.
Falcons at Panthers: Sunday, November 5th at 1:00 PM on FOX.
Sunday is bringing a NFC South showdown. Both the Falcons and Panthers have struggled thus far this season, and will be looking for a turnaround this week. Matt Ryan and the Falcons will look to their potent offense to carry them past Carolina’s strong defensive line. In turn, Cam Newton and the Panther’s offense will have to get the job done without their former star wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin. This should be a close matchup.
Washington at Seattle: Sunday, November 5th at 4:05 PM on Fox
Over the last four weeks, Russell Wilson and the Seahawks have turned their offense and season around. Now they will face a stiff challenge in Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins. Seattle’s defense will have its hands full with the Redskins passing attack. To win out, they’ll have to move the ball against a Redskins defense led by Josh Norman. Expect a spirited fight from these NFC rivals.
Kansas City at Dallas: Sunday, November 5th at 4:25 PM on CBS.
Last, but certainly not least, we have a powerhouse match between the Chiefs and Cowboys. After an incredible start to the season, the Chiefs’ defense has struggled in recent weeks. They’ll be fighting to get their groove back against a multi-faceted offense led by Dak Prescott and Zeke Elliot. This should be a closely fought game, and could be a preview of the post-season.
