The Low Income Protection Plan Committee recently approved some significant changes to the LIPP program. Starting in July 2003, LIPP will cover up to $30,000 of combined undergraduate debt and debt incurred while pursuing a joint degree program at another Harvard graduate school. Debt from non-Harvard graduate programs or non-joint degree graduate programs remains ineligible under LIPP. The committee also approved a change to the contribution scale, reducing the annual contribution for graduates earning over $46,000. LIPP is available for HLS J.D. program graduates who work full time in government, non-profit or academic jobs or in law-related private sector employment.
