When asked about future plans for the journal, Booth and Becker responded that they will ensure that JOLT maintains its status as the highest-ranked specialty law journal in the nation. They will do so by “working with our submissions editor to select the best cyberlaw, IP, biotech and Internet and telecommunications articles for the coming year, and supporting our fantastic editing team in our rigorous editing process.  We also plan to support our online component, the JOLT Digest, as it continues to garner attention for insightful, timely commentary on law and technology issues.” They also seek to have JOLT continue its role as a “community group” of people who enjoy technology.

Becker is from Lexington, MA and graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 2007. Before law school, he managed a high-end wine department for a year, and then worked for a little over two years doing research at Harvard Law School with John Palfrey, Urs Gasser and Dr. Larry Beeferman. After graduation, Becker plans to practice technology and IP law in the San Francisco Bay Area. This summer, he will be working at the San Francisco office of Fenwick & West.

Booth is from Florida and graduated from Yale in 2008. Before law school, she worked as a consultant for two years. A number of her consulting projects were for life sciences companies which helped spark her interest in both technology and health law. Booth spent last summer at in the Healthcare Fraud Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston, and will be working at Ropes & Gray in Boston during this summer.
