On Wednesday, February 1st, Harvard Law School Alumni sent the below letter to Dean Manning, demanding that HLS make good on its promise to enable all alumni to pursue their desired careers via the Low Income Protection Plan (LIPP).

Reached for comment, Brendan Schneiderman ’21, one of the letter’s authors, said “we’ve made it clear time and again that alumni are suffering, and not once has the school engaged with us. They’ve taken the position that, if they just ignore us long enough, we’ll go away. They’re wrong. In fact, it’s the opposite. In the time since I graduated from HLS, our movement has only grown. HLS can make these changes, or it can face increased organizing and further damage to its own reputation. But there is no future where we simply shrug and go home.”

The letter asks for the administration to respond in support of its proposed changes to LIPP by March 1st, 2023.

You can see the (regularly-updated) list of signatories via this version of the letter.
