Overheard in the Hark

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be printed in…OVERHEARD IN THE HARK

1Ls discussing New York pay raises:

“You’ve got to be stupid to not want to work an extra two hours a day and be paid three times as much.”

“None of the government lawyers I talked to sounded like they enjoyed their jobs, except the U.S. Attorney’s Office, but I don’t believe them. Actually, I’m just extrapolating from two conversations.”

An anonymous professor (well, we know who he is):

“Imagine a story in — well, not in the Harvard Law Record, nobody reads that. The Crimson, now that’s a newspaper.”

A frazzled student:

“I mean, I’m a 1L, I don’t even have time to call my mother.”

Girl speaking about a professor’s clothing:

“She is a champion of ugly blazers. I love it. Like, she must have worked really hard on this collection. I dig the outfits. I myself have a collection of ugly pajamas.”
